Tea Party Anyone?

I am getting closer to getting caught up on Christine's Kitchen.
One more to go before I am caught up. I still have to do the vase, but I am using fussy fabric that is going to involve matching up lines so I need to do it when I have lots of time and no distractions and maybe help from my engineer hubby.
I finished these two:

So, things are starting to fall into place.

I also got some cutting out done on the cardinal Christmas block before my little helper came to visit.

He was having far too much fun, so I eventually had to give up and play with him.

Hope you all had a purr-fect day!!!

Christmas in April

I am trying to be caught up on all of my sew alongs by the end of next week.
That is the plan anyway.
Don't want to start May behind.
So, I have finished my Partridge block this afternoon.

And here are all of them together.

And I will try to get the cardinal cut out in the next day or two. I know the next one will be out far too quickly.
I think that was my New Year's resolution.
Hope the sun is shining where you are!

Progress Report

Today is Day 18 of the 100 Day Creative Challenge.
100 days seems very far away.
The good thing is that if I make it, I might actually get some stuff accomplished.

I did complete 3 blocks on Sunday.
I did another RSC block.
It started off as one of my multi-colored blocks, but I really think that it fits into the aqua column now that it is done.

That's OK, because I have plenty more multi-colored scraps to play with.
Then I was a good girl and finished another kitty for my Patchkats quilts.

And then I finished another block for Christine's Kitchen.
I finished it after taking it all apart--never get to confident.
I sewed the sides on upside down.
After resewing:

Today, Christmas blocks! Hopefully no unpicking involved!!!
Let's call it Trouble Free Tuesday!!!
May your day be the same!

Spring has Sprung

And I bet you can figure out my favorite color.

There was some actual sewing done today, but I will show those pictures tomorrow.
Hope everyone had a beautiful day with friends and family!!

Things for Thursday

It was really nice today.
I did not need the A/C on in the sewing room.
I have a feeling there may not be many of these days left until the heat hits.
I did manage to get some blocks finished today.
One of my multicolored rainbow block:

I have at least two more of these to do.
I also finished block 5 for Christine's Kitchen.

Two more to go on that one. I worked on a couple of other blocks as well. Hopefully I can keep up the 100 days after I get home from work tomorrow.
Fingers crossed!!

Getting Somewhere

Happily I am off tomorrow, so I don't have to keep trying to stuff life, sewing and work all into one day.
I am not good at it!!
I have to go to work shortly, but I have managed to get Bleeker Street almost caught up.

Still needs a sun and I will get there.
Also, I have worked on a gazillion other things at the same
time. This is just the table I sew at:

At the other two tables, there are cats and birds waiting their turn. One day off is not going to be enough!!!
Oh well, I have managed to do a little bit of creativity everyday for the last 12 days and I am happy dancing.
Joy nicely let me start my 100 days on the 1st since I had a rare but awesome long weekend and I needed to make the most of it. Thank you ma'am.

Hope everyone is having a happy sunshiny day!!

Too Much Work...

...and not enough play makes Alice get very, very far behind.
But, I have been trying to catch up today.
I finally finished cutting out the partridge block for Have a Holly Jolly Christmas quilt along.

I forgot to count how many pieces, but it is a lot and of course the next block in posted, so I am very behind.
Working on it!!!
And I am also trying to finish up the next part in the Bleeker Street quilt along. I am not behind. Not done, but not behind.

And over there on the left are my multicolored blocks.
At least the first two.
There will most likely be more. I have lots of random multicolored fabric scraps.

I also think that I have finally figured out what fabric to use on the next teacup, so that will be happening soon.

I have an adoption event at PetSmart tomorrow, so that will be part of my day. But hopefully, I will get many things accomplished after that. Please!!!
Hope you are having a fun weekend!!

Tea Anyone???

Or maybe you prefer coffee???
I now have both.
I finished the teapot and finally got the whole row put together.

I am not sure what color to do the next teacup.
I did play with it for awhile and decided that I needed to walk away. Hopefully it will pop out at me tomorrow.

So, I have begun another challenge thanks to Joy at Days Filled With Joy.
100 Days of Creativity. She has a cool plan in her mind, but I am going to stick to trying to do at least a little bit of sewing everyday for 100 days.
Some days are going to be a challenge that's for sure.
I have nicely had a long 4 day weekend, but tomorrow is back to work.
Therein lies the real challenge.
So, Today is Day 4.
Lets hope I can keep it up!!!

Getting There!!!

Never seem to get as much done as I would like, but I am plugging along. Seems like the more I plan to do, the more mistakes and unpicking I end up doing
I really wanted to finish all of the teacups and pots yesterday, but alas--Not Quite!!!

Here is my progress so far:

Love these colors. Glad that I got brave and let them out of their ribbon.

I will hopefully get the tea pot finished tomorrow. Of course now the next block is posted, so I will try to get that one too.

They are talking more thunderstorms tonight, but yesterday and this afternoon were gorgeous.
Hubby captured a new sighting for me in the neighbors tree.

I have never seen Cedar Waxwings in our area before.
Maybe they liked the weather too????

Hope everyone has had a peaceful Monday.

Saturday Selecting

Fabrics that is.
The color of the month is multi-colored and I certainly have a ton of those.

I picked a few that I liked and actually seemed to work together.

I also have a pile of hmmmm maybe fabrics, just in case I find that I have way too much time on my hands.

I also decided on these lovelies for Christine's Kitchen SAL at Little Bunny Quilts.

This should make pretty teacups and teapots. And yes, I know this means I am starting something else.

I also have my fabric picked out for my Partridge in a Pear tree block. SOOOOO...
Tomorrow, I have to do some serious cutting and then a whole bunch of sewing.
That is the plan anyway!
Hope everyone got lots of sewing and other relaxing things done today.
No more spring cleaning!!!

Over Worked, Under Sewn

But I did try hard to catch up!!
I filled in hours this week for one lady at work and five minutes after I got home on Friday, they asked me to work some extra hours next week for another lady!
Oh well, more money for fabric right??

I have tried to make up for some of it.
I did get another kitty done.

Only 7 more facing the other direction and I will have all the kitties finished for ONE of the quilts.
Ugh!! I will make it--I really really will!!!

I also got some little things done.
One more rainbow quilt block done. A whole bunch more in various states of done-ness. And I have one shoo fly block complete and a bunch more of those are partially done.

Not a great picture, but the clouds would not cooperate.
Don't think the weather knows what it wants to do, but the temperature is awesome. 70 degrees--Woo Hoo!!!
I could put up with this all the time.

I spent a bunch of time picking out fabric for the Christmas SAL. The partridge was a challenge. Picking colors would have been easy, but picking colors that blend with the rest of the blocks was really messing with me.
I think I am happy with the colors, now for cutting out all the bagillion pieces.

Now it is time to watch NASCAR and finish laundry. Thank goodness for the pause button.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Some Sunday Sewing

It was snowing this morning, which is nothing exciting to most of the United States; but we weren't expecting any and I was kind of disappointed.
We always seem to be just on the wrong side of every snow storm.
It didn't stick, but it was still cool.

I did get my candles finished this morning.

So I am caught up on that SAL. Yippee!!
And I was a good girl and got another kitty finished.

I have another one prepped and ready to get put together.
I will keep on plugging along with them.
I also cut out the shoofly blocks for Bleeker Street, so I can work on them a little at a time.

And I will never run out of those little 6" rainbow blocks. I have several of them in different degrees of done-ness.

Time now for a laundry and NASCAR break.
I have extra hours at work this week because one of my coworkers had to go out of town unexpectedly, so I will have to get some of the icky housework done today too.
Hope everyone is having fun no matter what you are up to!!

More Red and Other Colors!

Feeling a little better today, so I hiked up the stairs to my sewing room with determination.
I finished my Poinsettia block for the "Have a Jolly Little Christmas" quilt along.

Then I grabbed all things using the STOP method and got busy on those. If I jump back and forth between stitches, I have been known to have to do a whole bunch of unpicking.
So, I almost finished the candles for the same quilt.

We will not discuss the fact that I drew some of my diagonals backwards and still had to do some unpicking.
There is also another rainbow block going on there and I did get all the parts ready to put together for another kitty.
So, not a bad day.
This sicky must go back to work tomorrow, and work through Saturday, so hopefully I fit in a few minutes here and there to keep the flow going.
Hope everyone is having a creative day!!

Red--Stuff That isn't my Nose!!!

Still feeling icky, but I have some red to declare!!
Here is my rainbow quilt block.

And to be true to the challenge, I did scrounge up some scraps to use. I even have another pair to play with when I have time. What is that thing called time???

Here is some more red.

These will hopefully be my poinsettia block for the "Have a Jolly Little Christmas" quilt along at Sew Fresh Quilts very soon. I have managed to get behind again. It is time to be doing the next one! Ugh!!
I will not stress--I will not stress--I will probably stress!

Need to chill like Witt.
He must like red because he is on the chair which weird to begin with and on the fabric which is even stranger.
He usually prefers a box, the floor or the table.
Even if I lay something on the floor, he will normally just sit next to it.

Well, that is all for now!!
Weird question: Anyone extra hungry this month?
Isn't red supposed to be a good color for restaurants?
Just wondering!

Welcome to the Infirmary!!! And some progress!

Nothing like a couple good cases of the You Name, It Hurts Disease!!!
Hubby got it from work over 2 weeks ago. I on the other hand--the wifey who works at a pharmacy--managed to avoid it until Friday. The coughing on me at work was no match for what was going on around here.
Needless to say I was making soup and washing linens instead of getting much sewing done.
But there is some.
Here is my progress so far on the
Spring on Bleeker Street sew along over at Ivory Spring.
Lots of fun stuff there.

And I have been working on red.
Almost done with one.
It was terrible--my stash was so low on red--I had to do some emergency red shopping.
The mailman brought these to me:

Did we pick any of the same ones Di?
And no, I wasn't a good girl--by stopping after picking out red. I ended up with a couple of purple. That is sort of mandatory isn't it???

And a few other stash builders hit the cart:

I know, all of my friends--especially those that have seen my stash, are rolling on the floor laughing. Need is not a word I should ever use.
But maybe between petting my kitty and my fabric, I might start to pull out of this snotty fog that has taken over my body!!!! I can but hope!!!
Hope everyone else is sewing up a storm. Well, if it is snowing on you maybe you should slow down a bit???
They thought we might get some but it moved south of us.
I know--I'm weird!!

One Last Aqua Post

The month flew by, but I did manage to get one more aqua block done for my scrappy quilt. Can't wait to see what the color for March is.

I still have one more aqua cut out, so I will finish that as March moves along.
For now--bye bye February!!!
The weather here can't get any weirder, so that lion and lamb will probably just take a nap.
Hope the sun is shining on everyone!!

Friday With Friends

For once I got to play on Friday like a lot of you out there in blog land.
Lola and Diana came to play with me in my sewing room.
My backup sewing machine was misbehaving but Lola still managed to get some pretty piecing done.

And she did some rotary cutter training for Diana.
She is an amazing cross stitcher, so it is time to bring her into the quilting world.

I managed to get some more of my Bleeker Street quilt along done amidst all the talking, laughing and eating.

I do have part of another tree going, so hopefully that will be done soon.
And of course Witt came to visit. He decided he was quite happy to have visitors.

The more pets and snuggles the better.
Can't believe February is almost gone.
I will not panic!!!!!
December is a very long way away!!!!

One Goal Met

Small accomplishment, but still an accomplishment.
Joy has two UFO challenges going on over on her blog.
One of them is to finish at least one block from a UFO BOM.
I finally got the handstitching done around this kitty.

This is from Sundrop. Maybe 2009???? Ack!!
One down. I have 10 more that are all done except for the handstitching and one more that I never made.
One bright spot--I found the pattern for the one I hadn't made yet. Thank you Joy!!
I also found out that blanket stitching with black thread on black fabric can make you slightly nutso!!!

Now, I must get ready for work. No more sewing for me today.
OH Yeah, it is National Sticky Bun Day!! Permission to indulge!!!

This Weekend So Far

Had to take a break to watch the first NASCAR race of the season, but I will get more done.
Here is my progress so far.
Of course there is another cat.

And yes, I cut out the wrong block for the Christmas quilt, but since I had all the pieces I had to do it.
It truly threatened to do me in. There was quite a bit of sewing and unsewing.

And happily, this next one didn't give me any problems.
Just one small self inflicted one.

I will grow a tree later.
Not sure what else will happen. I do have some aqua blocks cut out, so I will probably work on those as well.
Of course my little helper was there

and surprisingly even Squeaks came up to visit. That set of stairs is like a marathon for her.

OK, hopefully I will have more goodies done later.
It is 71 and sunny outside in February, so it may pull me outside for awhile.
Hope you are all having an awesome weekend no matter what you are up to.
