Sometimes...

...being confident is not a good thing.
I figured my next Christmas block would go much more smoothly than the ornaments. I had already done the more difficult version before--another boo boo--but not one that had to be redone.
So, I am flowing right along and boom:

Did the diagonal backwards. I cut out all new pieces and redid it the right way!

And then, I finally turned it into a bow.

I also worked on Bleeker Street for awhile.

I may be working on it forever. I do really like it, but I am doing a lot of things that I am out of practice on, so I am going slowly. No over confidence here!!!!

For now--I must go to work. Hopefully I can sneak so ME time in between work hours for the next four days!!??
Hope everyone is having a great week!!

Seriously Slow Sunday Sewing!!

Not sure if I was sleeping when I cut out the pieces to my ornament block or what, but boy did I do a lot of unpicking.
A lot of pulling, tugging and re-cutting out of pieces too.
So, my to do list did not shrink much.

Hopefully today will go smoother and I get more done, because it is back to work tomorrow.
At least my supervisor wasn't too hard on me.
He kept an I on me for awhile.

Then I think he got tired of the not so lady like words coming out of my mouth and fell asleep.

Today will be a better day!!!!
The sun is shining and the birds are singing!!!
Happy Monday everyone!

Yelow!!

I really did finish it on Scrappy Saturday.
So, I will make it Post It Sunday.

And here are all of the finished ones. There are also quite a few piles of cut out and partially put together blocks in all colors waiting to be added to this.

I seemed to be on a roll with aqua and yes, I do have several more purple ones cut out!

And I finally finished cutting out my next Christmas block.
You can see why it took awhile.

My supervisor was being seriously critical today.
He is napping now, so I should probably try to get some more done!!
Hope you are all enjoying a fun weekend with family, friends and/or your sewing machine!!

Moving Slowly

But still moving.
Feel like I am trying to fight off something, but I am trying to ignore it. Good thing it is my day off.
I worked on the bunny block for Bleeker Street today.
It has been awhile since I have done any significant amount of embroidery and boy could I tell.
After I got back into it, I found it to be relaxing.

Lots more to go, but I had to quit because my eyes were going cross-eyed.
I did get one yellow block cut out and the rest of the bits that I needed to do the next cat.

Oh and I played with my new spiralizer using zucchini and beets from our garden.
Hope everyone had an awesome day!!

Christmas in June!!

Now, if only we could have some Christmas weather.
I am hot already.
Now that I have finished Christine's Kitchen that was going on at Little Bunny Quilts, I need to buzz along with Have A Jolly Little Christmas from Sew Fresh Quilts.
And Spring on Bleeker Street from Ivory Spring.
Not to mention yellow blocks and birthday presents and the serious need to tidy up the sewing room, so that I can stop having to hunt for things everyday.

SO
Here is my holly block that I finished yesterday:

And here are all of the blocks done so far:

Ornaments up next.
Next on my list is working on the bunny block for Bleeker Street. It is in pieces and pencil marks at the moment.
I will get there right?????
For now--time to get ready to go to work.
Everyone have a happy Wednesday.

Doing a Little "I Finished" Happy Dance

My Christine's Kitchen top is finished.
It's finished on time!!!

It is not a great picture. I was hoping to be done while the sun was still shining, but I had a bit of a speed bump.
Of course the white sashing on the top and bottom was not wide enough.  I took it all apart and started over.
I will get a better one tomorrow after I quit dancing.

Hello June!!!

The sun is shining!! Woo Hoo!!!
We have had so much rain the last couple of weeks, so it is definitely a happy sight!!
I have been forging ahead on Christine's Kitchen.
I really want to have the top done by reveal day on the 6th.

I still have some sashing to finish and more work to do on the flowers, but I am getting there.

It really isn't all that crooked--REALLY!!
I just haven't figured out how to iron my design wall--AKA:felt backed plastic table cloth--without melting it.
It is time for a laundry/NASCAR truck race break and then back to sewing.
Hope everyone is having a fantastic Friday!!
