Now What???

Finished up my last fussy scrappy star.

Now, I have to figure out how to finish it off.
To sash or not to sash.
And what color to sash???
Oh dear!

I had fun making these blocks--even when I was a little crazed looking for those last couple of pieces of fabric to finish each star.
I will soon start a true scrappy one I think.
Thank you Terry for having all of these fun Sew-A-Longs.

Catching Up and Calories

Hope everyone is having a relaxing Memorial Day weekend. We are having gorgeous weather here in Virginia. We have actually seen the sun and the temperatures are a little cooler than they have been.

I have finally finished 4 of my Wiggly Whimsy strips for Terrry's sew-a-long. I think that means that I am caught up. I may keep going but I have to try and find a few other projects first.
Yes, I know my word for this year is supposed to be ORGANIZATION Continued. Ugh!!!

Would a holiday weekend be complete without sugary goodness? I think not!!!!
Found this recipe for Devil Dog cake on Recipe Lion and thought the boys would love it.

It is quite hard to get a pretty picture of the inside, but it is quite tasty.
So, now I am going to go back and watch the rest of the Coca-Cola 600.
My annual Memorial Day celebration of watching the Indy 500 and NASCAR's Coca-Cola 600 takes up most of the day assuring lots of sitting and relaxing.
It is amazing how much you can accomplish on a commercial break!!
Prayers to everyone in Oklahoma and Texas!!!

Drum Roll Please

Had to give the boy his moment in the limelight before I showed off his cousin's quilt which I
also turned over to its owner at the party.
So, after much scrutiny from the inspector

I finally got it all finished. And yes, she did make me unpick a few times.
So, without further ado--my version of Bonnie Hunter's Story-Time Stars.

The great nephew seems to enjoy it very much which was a plus.

Boys will be boys!!!

So now I need to put my house back together a bit more and get busy with catching up on all things sewing that have been pushed to the back burner while I finished the quilt.
Hope everyone is safe and not having trouble with flooding or fires.

Skipping Down Memory Lane

My baby boy turned 18 on Saturday and I was sorting through a million pictures trying to find a few of my favorites.
Well, of course some of them are hiding, but I found some.
In no particular order as you can see.

Party with the family at Dave and Buster's

I think my absolute favorite photo ever!

 Halloween in Riyadh

Hunting eggs with the buds in Australia. Can't find the one bud picture that I really really want to find.

Oh wait--this might be my favorite

 Making gingerbread men in Australia

Hanging out at Alnwyck Caste (aka Hogwarts)

Breaking boards for the children's hospital charity

 Somewhere in Puckapunyal, Australia

Bet you can figure this one out

Yes, he was short, but it is also the biggest vehicle we have ever driven.

Hanging with Dad--yep the toys only get more expensive as they grow older

Love my silly boy!!
