One Last Aqua Post

The month flew by, but I did manage to get one more aqua block done for my scrappy quilt. Can't wait to see what the color for March is.

I still have one more aqua cut out, so I will finish that as March moves along.
For now--bye bye February!!!
The weather here can't get any weirder, so that lion and lamb will probably just take a nap.
Hope the sun is shining on everyone!!

Friday With Friends

For once I got to play on Friday like a lot of you out there in blog land.
Lola and Diana came to play with me in my sewing room.
My backup sewing machine was misbehaving but Lola still managed to get some pretty piecing done.

And she did some rotary cutter training for Diana.
She is an amazing cross stitcher, so it is time to bring her into the quilting world.

I managed to get some more of my Bleeker Street quilt along done amidst all the talking, laughing and eating.

I do have part of another tree going, so hopefully that will be done soon.
And of course Witt came to visit. He decided he was quite happy to have visitors.

The more pets and snuggles the better.
Can't believe February is almost gone.
I will not panic!!!!!
December is a very long way away!!!!

One Goal Met

Small accomplishment, but still an accomplishment.
Joy has two UFO challenges going on over on her blog.
One of them is to finish at least one block from a UFO BOM.
I finally got the handstitching done around this kitty.

This is from Sundrop. Maybe 2009???? Ack!!
One down. I have 10 more that are all done except for the handstitching and one more that I never made.
One bright spot--I found the pattern for the one I hadn't made yet. Thank you Joy!!
I also found out that blanket stitching with black thread on black fabric can make you slightly nutso!!!

Now, I must get ready for work. No more sewing for me today.
OH Yeah, it is National Sticky Bun Day!! Permission to indulge!!!

This Weekend So Far

Had to take a break to watch the first NASCAR race of the season, but I will get more done.
Here is my progress so far.
Of course there is another cat.

And yes, I cut out the wrong block for the Christmas quilt, but since I had all the pieces I had to do it.
It truly threatened to do me in. There was quite a bit of sewing and unsewing.

And happily, this next one didn't give me any problems.
Just one small self inflicted one.

I will grow a tree later.
Not sure what else will happen. I do have some aqua blocks cut out, so I will probably work on those as well.
Of course my little helper was there

and surprisingly even Squeaks came up to visit. That set of stairs is like a marathon for her.

OK, hopefully I will have more goodies done later.
It is 71 and sunny outside in February, so it may pull me outside for awhile.
Hope you are all having an awesome weekend no matter what you are up to.

Happy Valentine's Day

Not much sewing done, but I did get some shopping done. Happy Valentine's Day to me??????
The mailman brought me all kinds of goodies.
I am going to blame this first one on Di.
For all of you who read her Quilting is Bliss blog, this probably looks familiar.

It is the perfect contrast for the apron I am making out of this.

Of course, I would have been a really good girl if that were the only thing that fell into my cart.
I found this awesome orange bundle too.

I also got these little goodies because I have been making so many tiny things lately.

Hopefully they will make things easier or at least neater.

So, I hope everyone has a day filled with love and warm fuzzies and chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate!!!!

Fought the Urge

...to turn on the air conditioner today.
It should not be 77 degrees in the middle of February.
Back to high of 50 tomorrow.

Spent most of the day cutting stuff out in between doing laundry.

Lots of pieces for the Christmas sew along and two more aqua blocks.

That one in the back is not nearly as light as it looks.
Hopefully next post will be of something put together.
Spent too much time hunting for the fabric I used on my stained glass quilt. Finally gave up. I don't think I have enough to do the backing anyway, so I will have to think of something else.
And of course I did manage to get some more cats done.

I decided that I needed to label the blocks so that I wouldn't mess it up, so they all have little pink numbers pinned to them.
I am sure that I will thank myself later.
Hope everyone had a productive weekend.

More Cat Monday

First off I need a big Woo Hoo!!!
I have finished both sets of black cats!!!
Yippee Skippy!!
I spent a lot of time this morning deciding wear the colorful ones will go in the quilt. Quite an ordeal. Some face left, some face right, some have hearts attached and some don't. Fortunately I only have to figure it out once, since both quilts are pretty much identical.
Had a panic moment because I thought I had not downloaded the directions for the border hearts which are no longer available. Fortunately, I just didn't print them. Yay!!
So, now I am working on these:

Lots of left facing cats and then there will be right facing cats and then 30 smaller heart blocks for the borders. Oh yeah, double that to 60. I can only hope that I will have it ready for next year's Paws for the Arts auction????

Witt was having fun today as well.
He was playing fetch as I was trying to concentrate.
He picked his saddest one eared, short tailed mouse to play with.

And then it was nap time. For him anyway!!

Back to work tomorrow, so hopefully I keep up the sewing flow.
Hope everyone had a happy Monday!!!

Successful Saturday

I have managed to get some sewing in today.
Of course the battery died on the camera just as I was trying to take pictures.
Hopefully my phone photos are not too bad.
I finished my scrappy aqua block.

Hopefully by the time I get to block number 12, they will be a lot straighter. Tiny flying geese are still HARD!!!

I also finished my second Christmas block.

This one just looks crooked because the corner wouldn't lie flat.
I even got some work done on my cats, so it was a fairly productive day. Now I need to get busy and get some finishing done since I joined Joy's finishing challenge.
No pressure--No stress!!!
Hope the sun is shining on everyone!!!
